I am an Ontario Certified Teacher and National Geographic Certified Educator living in the Niagara Region. My family are also the faces behind “MacQuarrie Family Bees”. We care for over 20 honeybee colonies, sell our honey and beeswax products locally and speak regularly to groups about both native bees and honeybees, pollination and caring for the environment. Over the years, my knowledge and interest in farming, growing/raising my own food and teaching our own children about farm and food systems has grown incredibly.

Being a lifelong learner is at the heart of my own personal journey and, through AgScape’s professional development courses and presentations, my role on AgScape’s Program & Resource team has enabled me to connect countless Ontario educators to the Food Literacy resources that we offer. I believe in AgScape’s mission to provide factual and balanced resources to educators and youth in Ontario and am excited to see what the future holds as we continue to grow our programs!
