From October 5 to 11, 2026, we celebrate the abundance of food produced by our farmers, the dedicated Ontarians in the industry, the communities we support, and the economic impact agriculture fuels.
This is the perfect time to help your students understand and appreciate the critical role that agriculture and food play in our daily lives, where our food comes from, and how to make informed, healthy food choices.

Canada’s Food Story
Introduce students to the foods, people, and tools that shaped Canada’s agriculture and food history. They’ll learn about the industry’s past and present, future trends, crop availability, technological impacts, and the challenges producers face.
Eating Well and Making Food Decisions
Introduce students to essential food choices influenced by health, social, and economic factors, using Canada’s Food Guide as a starting point to examine decision-making through a nutritional and health lens.
Grade 7-12
Students explore what “local” means in food decisions and examine the factors that influence those decisions, including health, social, economic, and environmental considerations.
