AgScape reaches over 820k students in Ontario with food & agriculture educational experiences
At 2022 Annual General Meeting AgScape’s Board launches the charity’s new vision & mission to lead a movement to bring food & agriculture to all Ontario classrooms.
For Immediate Release: In 2021 AgScape provided 828,300 educational experiences for Ontario students through all programming and resources, reaching 1,448 Individual schools. AgScape also delivered 703 Teacher Ambassador Programlessons to over 15,000 students, on a wide variety of food literacy and agriculture related topics.
AgScape’s 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM) successfully concluded on May 13 with an in-person celebration event at the Arboretum Atrium on the University of Guelph Campus, where
AgScape’s Board of Directors unveiled the vision and mission which will guide the non-profit and charity moving forward:
AgScape’s Vision: Leading a movement to bring agriculture and food education into all Ontario classrooms. Inspiring youth to see their role within the food system that’s a vehicle for social, economic, and environmental impact.
AgScape’s Mission: Through experiential and science-based programs, we empower Ontario youth and educators to understand their relationship to the agriculture and food system and ignite interest in related careers.
AgScape continues to move closer to making its vision a reality in 2022 and beyond through expanding our Teacher Ambassador Program to now reach students in grades 4-6. As of 2022 the program is also available for delivery in French. These expansions mean that we are reaching students virtually and in-person in both English and French in Grades 4-12 across Ontario.

Newly elected to AgScape’s board of directors, include Emily den Haan representing Haanview Farms & Sheldon Creek Dairy and Sarah Andrewes, elected to a community seat. Kyle Mottram from The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and Sarah Adrian from Synthesis Network were also welcomed as representatives to the AgScape board. Re-elected to the AgScape board executive for 2022/2023 are Kathryn Doan as Chair, Jennifer Kyle as Vice-Chair and Jennifer Peart as Treasurer.
