Virtual Field Trip: Gardening 101
Join us on Friday, May 1, at 10:00 a.m. for a free Virtual Field Trip to the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum in Ottawa, Ontario, where students will explore the incredible world of gardening.
During this engaging field trip, your class will:
- Meet Renée-Claude Goulet, Science Advisor from the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, and tour the museum’s gardens and spaces.
- Discover the basics of plant science, including what plants need to grow, how they develop, and how they reproduce.
- Learn how soil health, compost, and fertilizers support strong, healthy plants.
- See real-life examples of a perennial food garden, self-watering planters, and a hydroponics unit.
- Learn how to start a garden at school or at home.
- Participate in live discussions and ask questions in real time.
Additionally, all registrants will receive a digital activity kit containing engaging educational materials to enhance the Virtual Field Trip experience.
