AgScape and Agritourism Ontario Help Families Explore Farms, Food, and Fun This Summer

Milton, Ontario – July 23, 2026 – AgScape, a leader in innovative agriculture and food education for educators and students across Ontario, is inviting families across Ontario to keep curiosity growing this summer with the launch of its free Grow Curiosity! Summer Activity Kit, designed to help children explore where food comes from and how agriculture connects to everyday life.

Created for parents, grandparents, and caregivers, the downloadable kit turns simple summer experiences, including visits to farms and farmers’ markets, gardening, meal preparation, and outdoor adventures, into meaningful opportunities for food and agriculture discovery.

“Summer is the perfect time for children to make real-world connections between the food they eat and the people, places, and systems that bring it to their tables,” said Amanda Robertson, Executive Director at AgScape. “This kit gives families an easy, fun way to start those conversations wherever summer takes them, helping children better understand the importance of agriculture in their everyday lives.”

As part of the kit, families are also introduced to the ON Farm Fun app. Developed by Agritourism Ontario, the ON Farm Fun app is a comprehensive, user-friendly platform that connects users with more than 800 local farms, pick-your-own produce, markets, and seasonal events. It includes interactive maps, a built-in chatbot for planning, and family-friendly games for use during trips. By bringing together farms from across the province in one convenient digital space, the app aims to strengthen connections between consumers and local food producers while supporting rural communities.
