AgScape Appoints Amanda Robertson as New Executive Director During its 35th Anniversary Year
Milton, Ontario- March 19, 2026 – AgScape, Ontario’s leader in agriculture and food education, is pleased to announce the appointment of Amanda Robertson as its new Executive Director. Robertson steps into the role at an important moment as the organization celebrates its 35th anniversary and continues its mission to advance agriculture and food literacy across the province.
Robertson brings a unique combination of education system knowledge, governance experience, and an agriculture background to AgScape. Raised on her family’s dairy farm in Perth County, she credits her upbringing with shaping her leadership style, work ethic, and passion for helping young people understand where their food comes from and why agriculture matters.
With extensive experience in the education sector, school board and non-profit governance, and community advocacy, Robertson has worked to support students, families, and educators in navigating programming, policy, and system change. Her background in governance, paired with an education in occupational therapy, gives her a strong understanding of how to build partnerships, strengthen organizational accountability, and champion accessible, high-quality learning opportunities.
“Growing up on a farm has absolutely shaped my worldview, the commitment to community, the value of hard work, and the belief that agriculture impacts every part of our lives,” said Robertson. “Stepping into the role of Executive Director at AgScape feels like a full-circle moment for me. This organization has been a leader in agriculture and food education for 35 years, and I’m honoured to have the opportunity to help guide its next chapter. I’m deeply committed to ensuring students across Ontario have meaningful opportunities to understand where their food comes from, who grows it, and why it matters. I’m excited to work with our team, partners, and the education system to build even stronger connections between young people and the agri-food sector.”
As AgScape embarks on its 35th anniversary year, Robertson’s leadership will centre on expanding and strengthening agriculture and food literacy programming across Ontario. The organization remains committed to equipping the next generation with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed and balanced decisions about food, sustainability, and careers in the agri-food sector.
Victoria Berry, Chair of the AgScape Board of Directors, expressed strong confidence in the organization’s next chapter under Robertson’s leadership.
“Amanda brings an exceptional blend of lived agricultural experience, educational leadership, and governance expertise to AgScape,” said Berry. “Her passion for this sector is genuine, and her understanding of the education system uniquely positions her to strengthen our impact across the province. As we celebrate our 35th anniversary, Amanda’s vision and energy come at the perfect time. The Board is thrilled to welcome her as Executive Director and looks forward to the momentum her leadership will bring.”
AgScape continues to expand its programs, resources, and partnerships to support teachers, engage students, and elevate the importance of agriculture and food literacy throughout Ontario.
