The “Canada’s Food Story” workshop and supplemental pre and post workshop activities are designed to introduce participants to the various foods, people and tools that shape the history of Agriculture and Food in Canada. Participants will learn about the past, present, and future trends of the industry, including influences on crop availability, the impacts of technology, and the challenges being faced by producers. Most importantly, they will walk away knowing the what, why, who and how behind the variety of foods available in their communities, and the potential story behind each plate of food they encounter!

- understand the significant role Indigenous and other past agricultural practices influence how we relate to agriculture and food today.
- understand how agriculture is changing to meet the diverse needs in Ontario.
- know about the current and future trends in crop availability, innovative technologies and agricultural careers in Canada.
