Student Engagement

genAG is a unique competition-based career exploration program for high school students.

In groups, students develop and implement a creative marketing idea that promotes ag-sector careers to students in their school. They then submit a genAG portfolio that tell the story about their marketing ideas. The top three groups will advance to the provincial final where they will pitch their success story to a panel of agriculture representatives for a chance to win cash prizes.

         Canada's Outdoor Farm Show

Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show (COFS) is Canada’s largest outdoor agricultural trade show and a hotbed for learning! Students interested in agriculture, horticulture, environment, technology, mechanics, agri-business, and many other related industries can learn valuable information by attending the show.

In previous years, AgScape has led student tours, conducted a student career competition, and launched FarmShowGo! activity which guided students on a scavenger hunt to different exhibits on the grounds interacting with various industry professionals and learning about a variety of agri-food career opportunities.

 Career Competitions

AgScape’s Career Competitions are an excellent opportunity to help students make-real world connections and learn about future career pathways in the agri-food sector. Students will rotate between different stations where they will meet agri-food industry representatives and participate in interactive activities that tests their overall employability and general agri-food knowledge.
