   Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month

In 2012, Agriculture in the Classroom-Canada worked collectively on the initiative to declare one week in early March as Canadian Agriculture Literacy Week.  These week-long celebrations were so popular, it has been expanded to a full month!  This hands-on program encourages students to learn about and celebrate agriculture through a variety of events and activities.

Agriculture in the Classroom-Canada (AITC) member organizations celebrate Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month (CALM) annually in classrooms across the nation each March. Agriculture comes alive in Canadian classrooms as students participate in activities to learn about, connect to and understand this important industry. Events and activities run throughout the month, to celebrate the fact that agriculture is all around us, every day!

To help teachers and students celebrate Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month in March, AgScape offers FREE CALM resource packages Elementary and Secondary teachers can order - complete with curriculum-linked lesson plans and materials appropriate for your grade
