Virtual Food & Farm Field Trip: Hazelnut Farm

Join us on Wednesday, October 8, at 10:00 a.m. for a free Virtual Food & Farm Field Trip, where your K-8 students will explore the world of hazelnuts at The Nutty Neighbours, a hazelnut farm located in Smithville, Ontario

From the comfort of your classroom, you and your class will: 

  • Discover how hazelnuts are grown in Canada
  • Explore how hazelnut trees are cared for and the unique characteristics of hazelnut varieties 
  • Learn how this family farm is helping to grow Ontario’s emerging hazelnut industry
  • Engage in live discussions and ask questions in real-time


Additionally, all registrants will receive a digital activity kit containing engaging educational materials to enhance the Virtual Food & Farm Field Trip experience.

This event will be delivered in partnership with Farm and Food Care Ontario and streamed to AgScape and Farm and Food Care Ontario’s Facebook and YouTube channels. After registration, we will provide you with a detailed reminder on when and how to take part.
