Virtual Food & Farm Field Trip: Pig Barn

Join us on Tuesday, October 7, at 10:00 a.m. for a free Virtual Food & Farm Field Trip, where your K-8 students will tour a modern pig finishing barn.

From the comfort of your classroom, you and your class will: 

  • Follow along as John Otten, from Floradale Feed Mill, walks students through the barn’s feeding systems, ventilation, and animal care practices
  • Get a behind-the-scenes look at today’s pork production and the dedication behind raising healthy animals
  • Engage in live discussions and ask questions in real-time


Additionally, all registrants will receive a digital activity kit containing engaging educational materials to enhance the Virtual Food & Farm Field Trip experience.

This event will be delivered in partnership with Farm and Food Care Ontario and streamed to AgScape and Farm and Food Care Ontario’s Facebook and YouTube channels. After registration, we will provide you with a detailed reminder on when and how to take part.
